Boasting white sandy beaches and a mountain, Kadambal Island is surrounded by blue waters and is one of the most beautiful tourist areas in Saudi Arabia.
On this serene island, which is just 30 minutes away from the Asir coast by boat, visitors can relax and marvel at the pristine landscape or do something more active like swim, dive or hike. Migratory birds and rare hawks make the arduous journey to the island, landing on the mountain’s peak.
Kadambal is one of the islands in the Al-Qahma area in Asir, a prominent destination in this year’s Saudi Summer Program that was launched by the Saudi Tourism Authority on June 24.
The program continues in 11 destinations until Sept. 30 and covers approximately 500 diverse experiences and activities, with more than 250 partners from the private sector.
The island is considered an ideal place for recreational tourism because of its natural beauty, relaxed vibe, and its proximity to Asir’s coast, making it an ideal spot for visitors from the area or further afield.
Islamic relics have been found on Kadambal and recorded in the registry of national monuments as the island is on the route for travelers going from the Horn of Africa and Yemen toward the north or the other way around. The Saudi Tourism Authority is working to promote Kadambal as an international visitor destination famous for its natural beauty.
